Sait students have had the opportunity to work on numerous aircraft throughout Sait’s history?

As one of the earliest and longest running departments at Sait, the Aeronautics Department has been responsible for the construction and repair of numerous aircraft since it's creation in the 1930's. From recreational gliders and civilian aircraft, to fighter jets and bombers, students have been provided access to numerous classes of aircraft through various agreements with commercial and government organizations, private aircraft owners, and even the Canadian military. Though no longer housed on the main campus, Sait continues to grow and expand it's aeronautics programs, and is currently operating out of the Art Smith Aero Centre located at the Calgary International Airport.
For more information on this and many of the other departments of Sait throughout it’s history, please contact the Sait Archives or view our online collections.

Job Hunting?

We have some excellent resources to help you get started.

Our catalogue is a good place to begin. Use simple keywords such as:
  • job hunting
  • job interview
  • resumes
  • resume employment
  • cover letters

Use these keywords to search for streaming videos and dvds. Here are some examples that might be helpful:

We also subscribe to a variety of newspapers. You can check the "Careers" section and look for job postings there.

You can search our databases to find full text and in-depth articles about job searching or to learn more about a potential employer.

Put your search term in quotation marks for best results. If you want to narrow your search results, use the "date range" or "full text" options.

Here are some databases that we recommend:

Our "Career Searching and Employment" subject guide can help get you started too.

Internet Web Sites
When you search the Internet, remember to put the search term in quotation marks. If you need to refine your search, try using terms like:
  • online job search
  • work at home
  • job listings
  • online networking
You can also make the Internet work for you by uploading your resume and cover letter so potential employers can find you when they are looking for someone with your particular skills.

Remember that the Internet is a two way street. Just as you might use Google to find out about a potential employer, your employer can check you out as well. Be careful what you post on Facebook or YouTube.

Some Internet websites that might be useful are:

Good luck with your job search!
